James Halliday, in his 2010 Australian Wine Companion, gives Paramoor Winery an outstanding report. He has again rated Paramoor at 4.5 stars and views Paramoor as an ‘excellent producer of very high quality wines’ that is ‘knocking on the door’ of 5 stars.

He has rated Paramoor’s 2008 Riesling at 95 points and placed it among the ‘best of the best’ wines in its category in Australia. This is what he had to say:

“A glorious modern Riesling, with lime and apple aromas leading into a seductive palate, which is fruit-sweet in a citrus, apple and tropical range; just an element of sweetness on the finish.”

The Paramoor 2006 ‘Kathleen’ Shiraz and the 2005 ‘The Fraser’ Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot were both rated at 93 points.

This follows a 96 points rating for Paramoor’s ‘The Fraser’ Shiraz /Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot in the 2009 Australian Wine Companion.
